Call for Papers

PATT & ICTE 2027

PATT & ICTE 2027 cordially invites scholars, educators, and policymakers worldwide to contribute their
research, insights, and practices. As always, we welcome submissions covering ALL aspects of technology
education research. Whether your work focuses on curriculum design, pedagogical innovations, teacher
education, historical perspectives, or student cognition, your contributions are highly valued in this inclusive
community. Crucially, our focus remains firmly on Technology Education as a distinct discipline—
exploring how students learn to design, make, and critique technology—rather than the general use of
educational technology to teach other subjects.

Special Thematic Focus:
RETHINKING Technology Education: Tangible, Digital and Beyond

While our conference remains fully open to all broad topics in technology education, this year we also invite
scholars to engage with our special thematic focus. In this era of intertwined realities, much effort has been
devoted to developing AI and digital applications, sometimes causing traditional tangible technologies to be
overlooked. The tension between these two forces—the gravitational pull of the virtual and the enduring
anchor of the physical—lies at the heart of our special theme.

Strands & Guiding Questions

The following Strands are intended to inspire thought, rather than restrict your submissions.

Strand 1: Broad Perspectives in Technology Education (Open Call)
We welcome all empirical research, theoretical papers, and practical case studies related to technology and
engineering education. Topics include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum development and policy
Pedagogical approaches and assessment strategies
Teacher education and professional development
Historical, philosophical, and psychological perspectives in technology education
